1. Home Owner/Advertiser

How do I place an advert?

The holidayloop site is so easy to use. Just click "Register your home now" on the home page, or open the rate card from the menu at the top of this page and follow the simple instructions. You will gain control of your own back office, where you can update availability charts and edit or add to your property portfolio on line 24/7. You can practice building your advert and see previews before finally publishing. We have a really straightforward 6 step process, just follow the process and you can't go wrong.

How much does it cost?

Our basic holiday home rental advert costs £99.00 per year. This includes your complete back office, up to 12 photos and a link to your own or any other website. (We reserve the right to remove links to sites which we deem to be unsuitable). It also includes the facility to upload your own or any suitable video (we will automatically ensure video is suitable before publication), and an updatable availabiity chart. You can also opt into "for sale", " holiday swap", "featured property" and "late deal" from your back office.

Can I upload videos for my property?

Yes you can, holidayloop.co.uk is (as far as we know) the only holiday rentals website to allow the use of video to enhance your holiday rentals advert. You can search sites such as YouTube, Google, MySpace, MetaCafe, GoFish, Vimeo, Biku, Yahoo Video, etc for suitable video clips. These may be short documentary or publicity videos made by local tourist boards or promotional companies which are freely available to copy. Just cut and paste the "Video embed code" (we explain exactly how to do this in step 3 of our simple 6 step advertising process). You can add a video at any time. Alternatively, make your own video, feature your property or nearby facilities/ amenities and upload to sites such as YouTube, Google, MySpace, MetaCafe, GoFish, Vimeo, Biku, Yahoo Video, etc before cut and pasting to holidayloop.co.uk as above.

How many videos can I add?

We only allow one video per property advert.

Can I add links to external websites?

Yes you can add a link to your own or any other website in step 1 of our simple 6 step advertising process. Simply cut and paste the website URL, type the website name which creates a clickable button on the final advert, and finally describe the website to give viewers an excuse to click and look. (We reserve the right to remove links to sites we deem unsuitable, such as competing websites or links to multiple property sites where only one of the properties is advertised on holidayloop.co.uk).

Can I advertise more than one property?

yes please! However, you will need to create a new advert for each property (a property is deemed to be an individual letting unit, whether sharing a single plot with other units or otherwise). Please see our "rate card" for details of reduced rates for subsequent properties. Whenever any of your individual properties are viewed, the others will be visible at the bottom of that particular advert under the heading "other properties from this owner".

How many photos can I add?

You can add up to 12 photos. You must add 2 photos to make the advert go live. Photos are automatically resized, so there is no need for any special preparation before uploading. If you have no digital photos you can send us your originals and we'll get them on your advert for you.

How do I prepare my photos?

There is no need for any special preparation as our system automatically resizes your digital photos. However, very small stored digital images may look grainy or blurry when resized. It is better for your advert if we reduce rather than enlarge your photos.

Can I add captions to my photos?

Yes, just add the caption when uploading photos in step 3 of our simple 6 step advertising process. You can also edit captions at a later date.

Do I need to keep my calendar up to date?

Yes, please do. Updating your calendar helps to keep the website live and functional. You should update all of your advert features and information regularly and we believe you are much more likely to receive enquiries if people trust the information available in your advert.

Can I link my advert to my own website?

Yes you can add a link to your own or any other website in step 1 of our simple 6 step advertising process. Simply cut and paste the website URL, type the website name which creates a clickable button on the final advert, and finally describe the website to give viewers an excuse to click and look. (We reserve the right to remove links to sites we deem unsuitable, such as competing websites or links to multiple property sites where only one of the properties is advertised on holidayloop.co.uk).

Can you help with my advert?

Our process is designed to be simple, however there are times when, beyond anyone's control, things just aren't as simple as they should be. If you're having a day like this, contact us and we'll do whatever it takes to help you get your property advert up and running.

Can I alter my advert in future?

Yes, you can log on and edit/update your advert at any time. Above all we encourage you to keep your availability chart up to date at all times. In addition you can enhance your advert, getting on the home page with features such as "for sale", "holiday swap", "featured property" and "late deal" from your back office at any time.

How will local holidaymakers find my advert?

The site will be marketed both locally in the media and world wide on the net. If a holidaymaker wants to find a locally owned holiday home they simply use the optional "homeowner location" menu when searching from the home page. For example you can either prioritise the holiday home location or the home owner location. Meaning you can search for all holiday homes owned by Jersey residents, for example.

How will I be notified of enquiries?

You will be contacted by the holidaymaker either by phone or email. The number of email enquiries you receive is noted against your advert in your back office.

How do I offer a "late deal"?

Simply log on to your back office, go to section 4 of our simple 6 step advertising process and add the late deal dates and further price information, click on "finish" then "publish property" tick the relevant box and make your payment. Your "late deal" advert will appear on the home page immediately and will be clearly visible to anyone landing on your property advert. We limit the number of "late deal" property adverts to ensure value for money. Therefore this feature may not always be available. Please keep checking in your back office.

How do I get a "featured property" on the home page?

Simply log on to your back office, select the property you wish to feature, check the "featured property" add-on is available and then click on "publish property". The pre payment information will appear, tick the relevant box and make your payment. Your "featured property" advert will appear on the home page immediately. We limit the number of featured property adverts to ensure value for money. Therefore this feature may not always be available. Please keep checking in your back office.

How do I make my property "for sale"?

Simply log on to your back office, go to section 2 of our simple 6 step advertising process and add the "for sale" price and other  information, click on "finish" then "publish property" tick the relevant box and make your payment. Your "for sale" advert will appear on the home page immediately and will be clearly visible to anyone landing on your property advert in a search.

What is a "holiday swap"?

In our view a "holiday swap" happens when two holiday home owners agree to swap holiday home for a really good value holiday. Time share owners have agreed this sort of arrangement for years, so why not holiday home owners?. Of course there is no reason why you can't market your own family home as available for a swap in this way. However, you'll need to advertise your property for holiday rentals first.

How do I show my property as available for "holiday swap?"

Simply log on to your back office, go to section 2 of our simple 6 step advertising process and add your "holiday swap" information, click on "finish" then "publish property" tick the relevant box and make your payment. Your "holiday swap" advert will appear on the home page immediately and will be clearly visible to anyone landing on your property advert in a search.

Can I add "for sale" later?

Yes, this will be charged pro rata to your original advert. So, if there are 100 days left for your original one year rental advert to run, we charge cost (£40.00) divided by 365 times days to run, which in this example would cost you £10.95.

Can I add "holiday swap" later?

Yes, this will be charged pro rata to your original advert. So if there are 200 days left for your original one year rental advert to run, we charge cost (£40.00) divided by 365 times days to run, which in this example would cost you £21.90.

Can I add video later?

Yes, you can add video whenever you like, but only one video per holiday home.

My holiday home location/Country/Region does not appear on the research center or search menus!

Countries and Regions appear in the research center after an advertiser has loaded a property advert for that particular location. If we haven't already done so, we then add our research and images to the research center. Our research center is designed to encourage site visitors to discover more about the particular country or region.

When you add a new property in step 1 of our simple 6 step upload process, you are offered Country and Region choices for your holiday home location.  We may have missed an area which you feel should be listed separately. In this case please let us know, and we'll do our best to get your location mentioned.

My home County/Region does not appear on the optional "owner location" menu, prior to registering my details!

Countries, Counties and Regions appear in the "owner location" drop down menu on the home page only after an advertiser has loaded a property advert and told us they live in that particular location. You can leave the other options blank and then select a "home owner location" to find all holiday homes owned by people who live in your location. This is useful if you would prefer to deal with a locally based holiday home owner.

Rental agency advertising

We will consider any requests from holiday property rental agents who wish to advertise on the site. Charges are likely to be similar to those already published. Please contact us as we will consider on a case by case basis.

Why the optional "home owner location" tab on the drop down search menu.

This feature enables holiday home owners to target local renters and holiday makers.  Many owners, who wouldn't normally rent out their holiday home, will now offer to rent, even if only for a few weeks each year, as it is easier to have comfort in who is renting if the tenant comes from the same locality as the owner. Our research shows there are many potential holiday home renters who would prefer to deal with a local owner. This search criteria is optional and will suit those who prefer dealing with a local.

Click on the country button to discover web links , photographs and information which will help you to research and decide on your holiday destination. Click on "view all properties" to find available holiday homes in the selected country.
